Hello from Amy Clipston!
Hi everyone! Thanks so much for checking out our blog. I’m honored to be a member of this team of Amish writers.
I’m a brand new writer, and my first novel, A Gift of Grace, is the first in the six-book Kauffman Amish Bakery Series, debuting from Zondervan in May. Before I tell you about my book, let me tell you a little bit about myself.
Although I’m grew up a Jersey Girl, I now live in North Carolina with two sons, one husband, and three spoiled-rotten cats. I hold down a 7 a.m to 4 p.m. job, but my passion is writing.
As I mentioned above, my first novel will hit bookstore shelves in May. However, I have one last Advance Reader Copy I’d like to give away as a sneak peek. Please leave a comment here, and I’ll pick a prizewinner next Sunday. I just ask that in return for the book, you post a review on Christianbooks.com and any other bookstore website you choose.
Here’s a synopsis of A Gift of Grace:
The Kauffman Amish Bakery Series centers on the fictional Older Amish Kauffman family, who live in Lancaster County, PA. In book one, A Gift of Grace, Rebecca Kauffman's tranquil Old Order Amish life is transformed when she suddenly has custody of her two teenage nieces after her "English" sister and brother-in-law are killed in an automobile accident. Instant motherhood, after years of unsuccessful attempts to conceive a child of her own, is both a joy and a heartache. Rebecca struggles to give the teenage girls the guidance they need as well as fulfill her duties to Daniel as an Amish wife.
Rebellious Jessica is resistant to Amish ways and constantly in trouble with the community. Younger sister Lindsay is caught in the middle, and the strain between Rebecca and Daniel mounts as Jessica's rebellion escalates. Instead of the beautiful family life she dreamed of creating for her nieces, Rebecca feels as if her world is being torn apart by two different cultures, leaving her to question her place in the Amish community, her marriage, and her faith in God.

Hello Amy, it is very nice that you are a part of this group. I wish a group like this was around sooner. I would like to say I have a idea what of what Rebecca is going through. Not so much the fact of taking in my sisters girls but I get caught up in dilemmas with my own two girls that takes a toll on them, myself and my family.
Blessings, CarolG
