A Gift of Grace has shipped!

Hello!  I hope you all had a nice week.  Warm weather and sunshine has finally come to North Carolina, so my family and I are enjoying it.

It’s difficult to believe that Holy Week is upon us.  Wasn’t it Valentine’s Day only yesterday?  My sons are looking forward to carrying palms tomorrow at church.

This weekend is also fun for me because A Gift of Grace, the first book in my Kauffman Amish Bakery Series, has shipped from my publisher, Zondervan.  I received a few boxes Friday, and I’ve enjoyed holding, smelling, and hugging my very first book.

I’d like to give away two copies to folks who will post a comment to my blog.  Of course, I would very much appreciate if my two winners would post a review on Christianbooks.com and also another bookstore website, such as Books-A-Million, Borders, or Barnes and Noble.

If you would like to receive a copy of my book, please post a comment here.  I’ll reveal the two winners next weekend.

I hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend, and the journey into Holy Week.

I believe you're already sending me a book from a previous post, Amy. I just wanted to congratulate you on what I hope is the first of many books. I love the feel and smell of books, so I can appreciate how you felt as you unpacked that first box of A Gift of Grace.

I belong to a couple of online Christian fiction groups and will be glad to post a review for you.

I'd love to win a copy of your book. Amish+bakery=what's not to love?

Holy Week, especially Palm Sunday, holds fond memories of childhood church services. I got to go to a midnight service on Maundy Thursday/Black Friday once that had a huge impact on how I view Holy Week.

That is great news that your book has shipped. I have a copy on order from Christianbook.com, and I'm really looking forward to reading it. Just this week I got a notice from them that they are shipping me Beth's Plain Pursuit. So I should hear from them soon that A Gift of Grace is on its way, too. I hadn't realized that you live in North Carolina. My four years of high school (many years ago!)were spent at Camp Lejeune High School, Camp Lejuene, NC, when my Dad was stationed there as a Navy dentist. The spring was so beautiful there, and I remember especially the azaleas. Have been back in Texas since 1962. Good luck with the book!

I am so anxious to for A Gift of Grace to hit the book stores, that I was at Books-a-Million on Thursday looking for the book. The clerk went to look up the book to see why I could not find it on the self and told me that it would not be available till May, and I insisted that she had looked up the wrong book, that I just knew it was available. She showed me on the computer when it would be available immediately marked it on my cell phone calender. Not that I would forget.! I love reading about the Amish. Amy, I told look forward to Holy Week. I attended Mass tonight for Palm Sunday and will be in church on Holy Thursday and Good Friday as well as Easter Sunday. I just always feel "closer" to God during this week. It is hard to describe, but this time of year always makes me appreciate my faith.

    Amy,
I am anxiously awaiting your book. I live in an area of Ohio that is rural and has a growing number of Amish families moving in. I have always found them facinating and have made some very good amish friends. I remember going to the Swiss Festival in Sugarcreek Ohio when I was about 10 wow, that has been nearly 40 years ago. I have a lot of repect for the Amish community in our area, they live what they believe and not all of us can say that. We have an amish produce auction a few miles from us and it is so much fun to be there amid all the excitement. I am looking forward to your book being in my local bookstore and so are my friends, there are about 20 of us in my church that love amish novels and I have told them all about the new book set in an amish bakery. We will look forward to reading many upcomming novel from you.
we are waiting patiently in Ohio.

I can't wait until the next book in the series is out as well. Can you give us a title and a date of release? Otherwise, I will go nuts trying to make sure I get it as soon as it is out.
    Thank you!
