And the winner is...
Thank you so very much for helping me name my character's baby. I can't tell you how much I appreciate all the suggestions. I now have so many names to choose from for future characters!
The winning name is Esther! According to babynames.com, Esther means star or myrtle leaf. Here's a picture of a myrtle leaf, which, oddly enough, looks like a star.
Look for baby Esther's appearance in An Honest Love, releasing in 2010.
Keeping with the same theme, different gender, how about boys names? Any suggestions for Amish, Biblical, or old-fashioned names? In my Hearts of Middlefield Series, the main male characters are:
Gabriel
Levi
Tobias
Lukas
Stephen
Thanks again for all the suggestions!
'Til next time,
Kathleen

I think a good boy's name would be William (or Will). Since you chose my grandmother's name Esther for the girl's name, this was my grandfather's name. Or perhaps, Nathaniel (Nate) or Ezekial (Zeke). I am so happy that you chose Esther- I can hardly wait to read the book!!

I like Esther. I am glad that was the name chosen as I am one of the several people who submitted it.

Love that name!! Sounds like a good Amish, and Biblical name! I'll need to keep track of your books, for possible future reviews on my site.

I suggest Owen. We know an Amishman who has that name.

For a boy, I like the names Joshua, Adam, Jeremiah and Landon.
