I Can't Decide on a Recipe

Uh oh.

I've been working hard on finishing When Winter Comes, my novella that will appear in An Amish Gathering. Yes, if we haven't mentioned it before, Beth, Kathy, and I have been asked to do a second collection of novellas. But I've been so busy writing the story, I just realized that I haven't chosen a recipe for it yet!

I'm going to borrow a page from Kathy and ask for the help of our readers. Which recipe would you like to see included in the second novella, which begins in the winter and moves into springtime?

My choices:

1. Lemon snowflake cookies -- yummy any time of the year
2. Amish pretzels - kids love to make them
3. Amish chicken and corn soup - so satisfying on a cold night

Thanks for helping! The winner will be announced next week and will receive a copy of the recipe before anyone else gets to see it in An Amish Gathering

Happy cooking!

Barbara

I would like to see the recipe for the Lemon Snowflake cookies in the book. Really.....I would like to try all three. For a winter book it just seems the snowflake cookies would be perfect. I'm looking forward to reading the book!

I think the Amish pretezels would be the perfect recipe for your new book. Not only do kids love to make it, it is a perfect think to eat all year long, with mustard, salt or simply plain.

It will depend on where in the book the recipe is. I vote for Chicken and Corn soup in the winter and since we did cookies already I would like to see Amish Pretzels if it is in the spring time of the book.

I would love the recipe to the Amish Pretzels, so put that one in. My son who is 6 has decided he is the chef in the family and wants to cook all the time and I think we would have fun making these.....But then the Chicken and corn soup sounds absolutely delicious.

Nothing matches a fresh Amish pretzel. Those ones at fairgrounds or a at a 7-11 store are NOT even close! When in Lancaster, PA some Amish family were making them to sell. Just think drop-dead delicious! If the recipe is true, butter and all, everyone deserves to indulge. I vote "recipe for the Pretzel".

All of the recipes sound great. I vote for the Lemon Snowflake Cookies, but all three recipes as a bonus would be great! Can't wait to read the new book.

    I would vote for the Amish Pretzels but probably for the wrong reasons. I have a recipe for chicken & corn soup, which is one of my very favorite things to eat. I also have a recipe for a lemon snowflake cookie which, I can only assume, is the same one. I DO NOT have an Amish Pretzel recipe, so that would be the one I want. So - to sum up: Amish Pretzels - because I don't have t hat recipe;
Chicken-Corn soup - because it's my favorite. Oh yes, the cookies are great too!!
    Confused?

    Hi everyone!

I got up very late this a.m. -- I was working on When Winter Comes last night and stayed up very, very late. What a nice surprise to go online and see so many readers had responded to help me choose a recipe!!!!

Thanks so much! Am looking forward to choosing a winner and announcing who's won next week!
