Great News
I received some terrific news and have been wanting to share it with all of you but I had to wait until I had more details.
Well, I still don't have those details such as publication dates. Contracts take time like so many wonderful things do. But what I do know is this: my agent sold my three book Amish series tentatively titled Someone to Watch over Me. Abingdon Press, long respected in the Christian publishing world, recently launched a fiction section. I'm so thrilled that I will be part of it. The first book is Run to Me. I fell in love with Hannah and Matthew as I wrote their story. Hannah suffered great pain as she tried to do work she felt God wanted her to do. She struggles with feeling that God has let her down and her life will never be the same. I hope you'll love her story when the book appears. More details to come as I learn them.
Things are really moving along and not just my writing projects. I was so happy to see my realtor put a "For Sale" sign on the front lawn this week. I'd been trying for some time to get the house ready for this step and it felt good to achieve the goal. I was called bright and early the next day and asked to leave so he could show it. I knew that it was highly unlikely that the first person to look at it would buy it but hey, I'd had such good news two weeks before so I couldn't help wondering if it was going to happen again. Well, the person hasn't made an offer but who knows. I can't wait to downsize. Since I would rather write than clean my house, this one has just become too much. It's time the house had someone with more time and interest to take care of it than me. So I hope I'll be moving soon like Beth.
In the meantime, I hope you've had a good week and are looking forward to a relaxing and fun weekend!
'Til next time,
Barbara

Cathey,
Thank you for such kind words! I appreciate them. I really love the series and hope readers will, too.
I hope it doesn't take long to sell the house. Once I'm ready for a move, I'm impatient to get going!
Thanks again!
Blessings,
Barbara

Congrats on the book(s) offer. Run to Me sounds very interesting. Can't wait to read the series.
As for the moving, I hope you do sell your house, but wait till it is a little cooler. I helped Beth move and it was extremely hot here in Texas. I am sure that if I ever move it will be late fall early winter, any other time is just too darn hot. Good luck on the sale.

Hi Valarie,
Thank you for the congratulations and for saying Run to Me sounds very interesting. Can't wait for it to come out.
Florida feels hot to me most of the year but right now the heat is record-breaking and it's only June. As much as I want to get going, I do shudder at the thought of having to move in summer...
Thanks again for the congratulations!
Blessings,
Barbara

So I'm not the only person impatient to make a move, huh? : )
