Choose A Cover For Plain Paradise!
My fabulous editor and I are not in complete agreement about which cover should be used for book #4 in the Daughters of the Promise series, Plain Paradise. I think both covers are great, but I like one better than the other. She likes the other one better. Her idea -- because she is so fabulous -- is for readers to vote! How cool is that? So, just post a comment and let us know if you like Cover #1 better, or will it be Cover #2?
Amy, Kathy, and Barbara - would love for you to vote too!!
On another note - I found a mysterious love letter on a bridge. To read about it, go to my BLOG.
Have a blessed week everyone!

I would definitely choose cover #1. She is pensive, deciding which direction to go in her life.

No idea what the book is about, so not sure of what you're after with the cover. But just on appearance, number one draws my eye more. I think it's the colors. But the woman on the cover of 2 has longing written all over her, so if that fits, then no. 2? Maybe she's longing for a new plow?
I think both covers are beautiful though. You can't go wrong! Love the series logo, too. Can't wait to see it on the shelves!

I think Cover #1 is better to show that she is looking/missing something.

I like the second one better. I can't wait to read it. I got the book I won! Thank you so very much!! I don't want to read it because I don't want to mess it up!! I am going to go buy the second book that is with it.

#2 is better. You can see more of her face.

Cover #2 is my vote - although both are good.

I really like the look of cover #1. There is something about the expression that makes me feel the innocence, with contemplating thoughts of the young amish girl.

They both are good and no matter what they will be good but my vote is for #2..

It doesn't seem like we're helping much, does it?! LOL
I definitely like #2 best, especially because of the title and the fact that this is the last book. I like the looking forward like there is some resolution coming. And with Paradise in the title, why would anyone look back?

Oh no! This isn't the last one. Plain Proposal is #5, and there could be more!

I vote for #1. Can't wait to read this book!

I am so glad there is a book 4. I love the stories. I know a lot of Amish women who live in my area and I often think of them as I read your books. I like cover #1,I imagine she is rather shy and the artist captured the emotion prefectly. Love the closer view. Keep writing.

I like cover #1. Think it is more visually appealing.

I liked the cover of Book 2 but either one would be good. I love the Amish, Quaker books. I have read almost every one that I can get my hands on.

Beth, both covers are excellent, but I would vote for #1. There is almost too much pain in the face on #2, which doesn't quite fit with the title, Plain Paradise. Either will be great though! Love the covered bridge!

I love both covers, however #1 would get my top vote. I love the expression on her face. It really doesn't matter which cover you choose- I will buy it and read it anyway!!! LOL

I vote for cover #2 Looking ahead is always better then looking back.

My vote is for cover #2 because I like the lighter sky color, and the girl facing the front. Like other readers have said, you cannot go wrong with either one, and I can't wait to read the book.

I vote for cover number one although I like them both. How many books will there be in the series? I'm hoping for a lot more!

Wow, Beth! Both are gorgeous, but I think I'd pick #2. What do you think? I'm looking forward to this book!

I like #1 the best, but that heroine looks younger than the one in the second cover, so I'd choose one according to the age of the heroine, if I were you.

Cover 1 has my vote

Cover #1 for the front. But I think you should use both and put cover #2 on the back of the book.

Cover #1. This cover shows her looking away from a camera, and the Amish don't like their pictures taken.

i like cover 1 better, it looks more authntic, cover 2 makes it look like she is looking at the camera which we know they dont do and just more english

I am trying to draw my suggestion by the previous covers of Daughters of Paradise thus far. What I see is
Plain Perfect looking to the right
Plain Pursuit looking right-ward
Plain Promise also looking right--
so if you like unity, Plain Paradise should remain looking right, #2..but if for that very reason you think it's time for a change, then choose looking left, as is #1.
Not knowing the story line of any of the books,as I have not gotten to read any of this particular series yet, I can only offer my opinion from the visual perspective. Personally,I think the art should depict the theme of the end of the story.
That's just my opinion..
Thanks for allowing that opportunity--it's fun.

Cover #2 shows the heart shape of the bonnet.

Well first I like them both, but I read up further that the woman on #2 looked older than #1, and I agree. I like the full face version, but the color on #2 looks washed out. So #1 just draws me in. Love your writings. Keep up the good work, and let us know if the letter on the bridge goes missing.

I think cover number one seems to blend better. Cover number two is a bit overwhelming for some reason. So I pick number one.

Both of the covers are good. I chose #1 because she looks pensive as if waiting for something. Also it's not a direct frontal view so as to almost keep with their beliefs of no graven image.

I prefer #1 because with the lady closer up she looks so much younger and happier. She looks wistful.
Both would have been perfect if we had only seen one of them. But since we saw both, #1 draws me more to the book.

I vote for #2

I like the sky better in #1 and also that the girl is closer, but I like her expression in #2 much better, and also that she is looking ahead. I don't like her expression at all in #1 or the fact that she is looking backward. However, I will love reading the book regardless of which cover is chosen!

From reading all of the books in the series. My vote would be for cover #1. The side view shows much more about her concerns, views and worries - IMO

I vote for the first cover...EG

I think #2 is better. It shows more of her beautiful face.

Just wanted to tell you that I am on Plain Promise. These are the at the top of my list of best books.I love to read books that I cannot put down and all 3 of these are like this. I see that there is a book 4. Keep on writing. Having Amish pictures on the front of the books help me to relate to the characters in the book. Is there going to be a book 5? Thanks
