Meet Our First Featured AmishHearts.com reader!

Hello!

This week we're spotlighting the first Featured AmishHearts.com reader -- meet Rose Goddard!

Here's what Rose wrote when I notified her that she'd won the contest to be a Featured AmishHearts.com reader:

"Thank you for the contest and allowing me to be a part of your blog. Yes, I read Friday's Blog (where the contest winner was announced) and when I read the name Rose, I thought, No, it can't be "me" lol. I was so happy! I think it is a great idea to feature a reader occasionally.

I am 66 years old and a widow since March of 2008. My husband and I had 46  years together that God gave us.  I have two adult children: a son, 46, and a daughter, 44, and eight grandchildren. My daughter has six children ages are from 24, to 8 and my son has two children ages 21,and 9.

I like reading Amish fiction because the stories are Inspirational, The Amish live a Plain lifestlye and they help each other when they are in need of medical treatment or experience some type of disaster. They all pull together to get things done and they are so like family with each other.

I work as a housekeeper in our local nursing home. I love being around the residents who are a bunch of awesome  and interesting people. Besides reading I like to crochet, sew, play Scrabble, Yahtzee, and a game we always just call Dice."

Rose, glad to know you. Hope you continue to enjoy reading AmishHearts.com!

'Til next week,

Barbara

I LOVE this website/blog! I LOVE to read about the Amish. I am so glad there are some more writers out there who are wrting about these wonderful people. The Amish books are my favorites. I have a friend who lives in Hoes County, Ohio and she took us all over some back roads, etc. out there. It was GREAT. We have been there many times & just love the peaceful atmosphere.
Thanks for writing. Thanks for this website.
