Back from Pennsylvania!

Hi everyone!

I had a great time in Lancaster this past week.  I flew in to Philly on Sunday and met my editor, Sue Brower, and we drove to Paradise, PA, and stayed at the Creekside Inn Bed & Breakfast, a gorgeous historic home.

The Kathy and Dennis Zimmermann, the owners (pictured above), were wonderful hosts, and they shared many, many stories about their wonderful Amish friends.  I highly recommend staying at the Creekside Inn when you visited Lancaster!

Above you can see Sue and me posing at the Creekside Inn.  During our stay, Sue and I enjoyed two Amish farm tours.  We also visited the Bird-in-Hand Bake Shop, and we met my Amish friend for lunch.  Sue and I had dinner with another friend at the Bird-in-Hand Restaurant & Smorgasbord.  On Tuesday, we visited a few more places and then headed back to the airport.

Our trip was quick but very productive.  We talked about my current projects and future books.  I hope to visit Lancaster again soon.  Once my hubby is well, I’d like to make a family trip and show Amish Country to my boys.

I finished my edits to my second book, A Promise of Hope, last night, and I plan to send it off to Sue tomorrow after checking one last detail.  I’m very excited about this story and can’t wait to share more information with you!  I received a draft of my cover this week, and it’s gorgeous!  I’ll share it as soon as it’s approved.

Below are a few photos from my trip.  You can find more on my personal blog and on my FaceBook site.  I hope you enjoy them!

Above is a photo of a green shaded window in an Amish museum.  You can tell the true Amish homes when you visit Lancaster County by spotting the green window shades.

Please note -- I'm sorry that the photos are so large.  For some reason, the program won't allow me to size them.

‘Til next week,

Amy

    Amy,
Your pictures were great. I especially like the one with the Amish boys and girls, there is just a peace with them and I just wish everyone had that kind of peace in everyone's lives. Thanks for sending them.
