Another Giveaway!

I hope everyone has entered Beth's drawing for Plain Promise. This is a WONDERFUL book, her best yet. I loved it.

I'm offering a giveaway too--a copy of A Man of His Word and An Amish Christmas. To enter, leave a comment here or if you're on facebook visit Kathleen Fuller's Reader's Group and post a comment on the board. The drawning will be held at the end of September. Good luck!

The leaves are starting to turn here in Ohio. I love this time of year, all the colors, the smell of bonfires and fireplaces, the crisp, cool weather. Then there's food of course: apples, pumpkins, homemade soups and chilis, hot cider and hot chocolate. Yum!

What do you enjoy most about fall?

'Til next time,
Kathleen

Kathleen, I too am in Ohio, probably a little more than 3 hours south of you. We are in an area that is attracting lots of AMish to our rural area. I love the Barnesville Pumpkin Festival and all its fall decorations, and the smells of pumpkin everything, everywhere.I especially love the ice cream. I also love going to the Amish auction and seeing all the pumpkins and mums. The cool mornings and evenings and as you said the changing leaves make Ohio the perfect place to be in the fall. I would love to be entered in your drawing. Thank you for writing great books that I can share with my teenage daughter.

I remember walking to school and crunching the leaves that had fallen on the sidewalks in the fall. As a teacher in Florida, I missed the leaves that had turned beautiful colors. My sister FedExed me leaves; I laminated them and used them on bulletin boards. Amazingly, they remained flexible for years, although the colors gradually faded. My Florida students loved passing them around.

Autumn....oh, sweet autumn! This is something we can count on; the changing season. This we know, even with all the news on television we would care not to hear, but it's there. We can watch as God changes our world to a palette of color and as I tell my family, soak up the beauty of His world. I'm looking forward to my list of fall reading...sitting by the fire with a cup of tea reading my favorite authors. The first on my list will be 'A Man of His Word' and 'An Amish Christmas'.

I absolutely love the Amish genre. The very first Amish novel I read was Plain Perfect by Beth Wiseman. I've since read Plain Pursuit and A Gift of Grace by Amy Clipston (Amy & I are friends from when she lived in VA). I turned my mom on to the Amish novels, and it seems as though she reads one a week! We're always looking for new authors and novels to read. I can't wait to read one of your novels!

I forgot to comment on the season of Fall. I love Fall also, but here in Arkansas we mostly have Indian Summer. But we did not have a hot summer, 100's only 1 week, and alot of rain. We have 7 inches in the bucket for the year and usually we don't have that much this time of the year. Having some cool nights, but still warm days. Would love to have 40 degree nights and 70 degree days, but that won't come till late October.
