Texas Got Rain, and I Got A Haircut!
We asked for rain in Texas, and we got it! We've lived in our house for almost four months, and this past weekend was the first time our 'seasonal creek' filled up. I don't know how many inches we got, since our Lab ate the rain gage, but we have had lots of rain.
I just finished my revisions on Plain Paradise and will be sending it to my editor shortly. That book has many issues close to my heart -- adoption, the power of prayer, and the poems Stephen writes to Linda are fragments of poems my husband has written to me. Can't wait for you to read it in March!
I'm planning to include 'Snitz Pie' as one of the recipes in Plain Paradise. I understand that 'snitz' is dried apples. I'm wondering if I can get that in my small town. ??
I'll be starting a new book this week, so I decided I needed a new look too. So, I got my hair cut. Bunches. These are goofy pictures my husband took, but I'm hoping maybe I look younger. Always striving for younger...LOL...

Beth, Love the haircut, very perky! Our seasonal creek is also flowing. We've had between 4-5 inches in the last couple days. This is the first time Sandy Creek has flowed since the heavy rains in late April. Usually it is just sand, like a beach!

Your hair looks gorgeous! But I must tell you that when I first saw your pic when I first read Plain Perfect you didn't look older than me (I am 28!)! Now you really look younger than me!

YOU LOOK SO CUTE!!!!! I LOVE THE NEW LOOK!!!!! We just got home from Yosemeti where our cousin got married in the little chapel there! It was 105!!! WOW!!! Thought it would be cooler in the mountains! Hope your new book goes well, like that would be a problem... LOL I have to iron & frame your surprise, so it should be on it's way soon!!!!

I love your new hair cut you look very very young and soooooo cute. I live in Wi. and now our weather has been beautiful the Trees are changing colors and are just gorgeous. I don't have little ones around either but I decorate for every holiday, I have lots of Halloween decorations up, when my Grandchildren come they do love them. I just love your writing, keep up the GREAT work.

Your hair looks GREAT. I got a haircut also but mine is a lot shorter, but you can just take it so long and you have to do something. I have ordered Plain Promise and can't wait to read it.

Love the haircut. Good hair cuts make us women with adult children look younger. I always like a good hair cut these days. Can't wait for the new book. Love the halloween decorations. I too still decorate even tho I don't have little children any longer. But I do have the grandkid and when he is older maybe he will enjoy the decorations. I enjoy the memories of when we bought the decorations each year, just like the Christmas decorations for the tree, each one has a special memory attached.
