Ooops! I’m late!
Hi everyone!
I’m sorry I late this weekend! Last night I was so wrapped up in Halloween that I completely forgot about Amish Hearts. Please forgive me!
Since Halloween took over my life, I thought I’d discuss it today. As you may already know, the Amish don’t celebrate Halloween. However, I’ve always loved Halloween. I love this time of year with the beautiful foliage and cooler weather. Of course, last night was very humid, and my poor younger son was burning up near the end of our trick-or-treating. Today is much cooler, and I’d wished I’d worn a coat to church this morning.
Back to my Halloween story. This year I went a bit crazy with decorations on the house. We had bats in the two garage windows, pumpkin and skull lights lining the path to our front door, signs in the flower beds, a pumpkin light in two front windows, pumpkins on the porch, giant blow up pumpkins on the lawn, a talking rock on the front steps, trick-or-treaters on the porch, and light up pumpkins by the door that play the theme to the movie “Halloween.” The boys loved it!
The boys and I went trick-or-treating with neighbors, while my husband and mother gave out candy. Of course, we had a lot of candy leftover since I always buy too much.
After my younger son went to bed last night, my older son, mother, and I watched one of my favorite horror movies from the 1980’s, “The Lost Boys.” We enjoyed it, and my son and I even huddled together at one point.
The best part of Halloween was this morning when my younger son said,” I had a great Halloween. Can we do that again?”
Below are a couple of photos from last night. Again, please forgive my tardiness this week! I hope you also enjoyed your Halloween weekend!
‘Til next time,
Amy

My boys in their costumes. Who knew Darth Vader wore flip-flops? Commander Cody needed to find his shoes.

Your kids are so cute, thanks for sharing.

It's always a wonderful feeling when our kids enjoy themselves no matter what the holiday or event is. They will have that memory forever. I see that now with my girls that are 17 & 20 now. I miss them being little!!
Blessings, CarolG
