A Place Apart

An Amish Christmas is in Pinecraft,
Florida!
Goodies to go at Yoder's Amish Restaurant.
Featured here: books by Beth, Kathy, and Amy!
   What yummy Amish food!
It's a tradition for locals and tourists to eat here. Lines form outside!

Here are some more photos I promised of Pinecraft, located on the west coast of Florida near Sarasota. I drove over there weekend before last to meet a new friend who showed me around the little town where northern Amish and Mennonite get away from the cold.

We ate at Yoder's Amish Restaurant, found many wonderful gifts in their gift shop, then drove around Pinecraft in a golf cart designed like a classic car. My friend Sandy Jones is responsible for the great photos and new friend Sherry Gore of Pinecraft took us on the tour. Sherry's working hard on a cookbook entitled A Taste of Pinecraft. She hopes to have copies for sale in February.

Am so looking forward to doing a book signing at Yoder's Gift Shop on Saturday, December 12, from 1-3 p.m. I hope you're close enough to come! I'll be signing copies of An Amish Christmas and, if I get them in time, An Amish Gathering. Both will make great Christmas presents -- for others or yourself! After all, you were very good this year, weren't you?

The Amish doll Hilda I bought will be part of a contest NEXT WEEK on AmishHearts so check in then so you can enter.

I've posted some other photos on Facebook. If you're not a friend of mine, just ask and I'll invite you in!

P.S. An Amish Gathering is releasing early! Pre-order your copy right way so you don't miss out! Romantic Times Book Review gave it a 4.5 stars review! (That's their top rating because they don't give out 5 starts!) Also, An Amish Christmas landed on the CBA Fiction Bestseller list this week. It's been on the CBD bestseller list since it released in September. We're all thrilled! Thanks to you readers who have responded so warmly to our book!

Blessings!

    Rose,

I have more I'll try to put up another week...just to show I wasn't just there to eat! But oh my, the food! And the gift shop had so many great Amish handicrafts...that Facebook album I put up a week or so ago had many of those shots.

Yes, there are many Amish readers. I was told that the restaurant does a brisk business selling books there by their cash register. It was so fun to see books by not just our AmishHearts writers but other Amish writers as well!

      Karla,

Did you look at all the photos in my album on Facebook? The charming little cottages in Pinecraft and the three wheeled bicycles people ride, etc., are pictured there. My friend and I will be taking more there next month when I have a book signing at Yoder's.

Don't forget to check AmishHearts on Friday when I run the contest for Hilda, the sweet little Amish doll.

I looked a the photos, they are gorgeous! We attempt one trip to Florida per year, if budgets allow. Maybe we should visit this community this summer. About how far would it be from St. Pete's Beach- our regular vacation spot?
