God is Always in Control...
When I read Amy's post about their search for a kidney for Joe, it reminded me about how I first met Amy. It certainly wasn't a coincidence that God introduced us. At the time, I was researching about kidney transplants for my second book in the Daughters of the Promise series -- Plain Pursuit. And, Amy and Joe to the rescue! They helped me a lot with the details for my book, and a friendship developed easily...as if I'd known Amy forever.
I mention this today because I think God often sets things in motion, although we never know what to expect down the line. Many of you know about my best friend's son -- Brian -- who was hit by a drunk driver in November. Brian lost all his kidney function from the accident, and he has to have dialysis four times a week. I found out this morning that he is back in the hospital with more kidney issues. Hopefully, he will be home in a few days and back to his wife and new baby.
Brian's mom is Renee' -- my best friend and angel on Earth. She asked me a few months ago, "Why did you choose to write about a kidney transplant in your book?" I told her that I had no idea. She asked me if I thought that everything (meeting Amy, me writing the book) was all God's plan to prepare us for all of this with Brian, who must have a kidney transplant, just like Joe. I think so.
Amy even offered to share her knowledge about kidney transplants with Renee' and her family when the time comes. All a coincidence? I think not.
Today, I ask -- please lift up Joe and Brian in prayer. May they BOTH find kidney matches and go on to lead healthy lives, free of dialysis!
Blessings to all of you for a wonderful week!
Love,
Beth

I am certainly praying for both men. AND... no, that is no coincidence!! God has definitely had his hand in this matter of researching kidney problems and transplants!! He know what He is doing at all times, even when we have now understanding. I have to keep reminding myself of that when I run into situations. I am a chronic worrier and know I shouldn't be. My constant prayer is to let God handle it- He knows ALL!!

My heart is so heavy this evening, & my mind is so wrapped up with kidney disease. I lost a dear friend this morning to kidney disease. She was much older than either Joe or Brian & I'm sure her age had much to do with her not being able to continue the "good fight". I will keep Joe & Brian in my prayers--as well as their families.

Things happen for a purpose. My daughter who is almost 30 yrs old has asked many times why can I not find a significant person in my life. I have always told her in time, God would answer her prayers. Well recently my son and his wife had their three children removed from their home, and the wife was charged with battery on one of the kids. Dept of Human services took the kids to a foster home. My grandson is the youngest of the children. My daughter went immediately to seek custody of my grandson, her nephew. She was granted emergency custody and we now have him with us. I told her that it is easier for a man to accept a woman and her child than it is to accept a child that is not his into their marriage. I think she now has seen why God did not have a special person in her life. He had a far more important job for her to do. God leads us to those we need to help us and those who we need to help.
