Can You Hear Me Now?

I hope that more and more of you are enjoying some warm weather and some beautiful things to look at as the country emerges from one of the coldest winters ever.

I was leaning out the back door, calling to the dogs to come in today and frowned. Not only had my college students been antsy and not paying attention in class today but the dogs weren't listening to me either and had plopped down on the grass. There was an amazing sweet floral scent to the air. I looked over and the chinaberry tree was blooming. Its branches are covered with clumps of lavender flowers that remind me of lilacs from up north. So I grabbed a chair and sat myself down and enjoyed the beautiful day (stop and smell the chinaberry tree, I said to myself). This tree makes me feel a little less homesick for the lilacs I remember from up north -- Cincinnati, to be exact.

And talking about listening -- I was, before I got off track a little -- I received an audio version of An Amish Gathering the other day and have been enjoying listening to it since. An audio book is an interesting change from a regular paper book. If you go on Christianbooks.com or Amazon.com you'll see it on sale, too!

What springtime memories are you making right now?

Blessings!

Barbara

Oh Barbara! When we had to move south due to my husband's job transfer, I was stunned to realize lilacs didn't grow here in Texas! Like you, I grew up in Ohio--where the lilacs are sooo abundant!I still miss them so much every spring!

    Hi,
In answer, you're making me recall our lab in Charlotte, NC standing on her hind legs to smell the top of the hollyhocks in bloom, sitting on the back porch stoop in NJ enjoying the sweet air and breeze, watching the puffy pink and white clouds begin at dusk in the Miami skies, and many more...thanks.

Right now, I am sitting looking out the front window at our garden filled with tulips, daffodils and purple flowers (forget the name- my husband is the gardener!). Such an array of colors!! What an example of God's splendor!! Oh- come to Ontario, Canada- we have an abundance of lilacs!! But they wreak havoc with my allergies!! LOL
