Good Things Come in Threes? And a Contest!
It was a good week around my house this week!
Several days ago a big box was sitting on the front doorstep when I came home. In it were the Advance Reading Copies of A Time to Love, the first in a three book Amish series called Quilts of Lancaster County (Abingdon Press). These are the copies that are sent out to reviewers and "influencers" -- readers who will let others know what they think of a book. Would you like to be one of the first people to get one and write a review if you like the book? Then just enter a comment on this site 10 p.m. Thursday, June 3. I'll throw all the entries into a hat and pull out one and announce the winner on Friday, June 4.
Other good news included hearing that both my novellas published in 2009 are finalists in the Inspirational Readers Choice Contest (IRCC) sponsored by the Faith, Hope, and Love chapter of the Romance Writers of America. As many of you here know, One Child appeared in An Amish Christmas and When Winter Comes appeared in An Amish Gathering, both with Beth and Kathy as co-authors with inter-connecting stories.
And the third good thing? I'm working on the third story in the Quilts of Lancaster County series and loving it. As I said, it's been a good week! I hope yours was, too!

I would love to be considered as an influencer. You know I will post your reviews and now God has opened a door for me to put good fiction in the jail to reach the women there. I pass on some books and some go into jail down. I now have a teenager begging for my books since my husband took some to work. He's a deputy.

WOW Barbara! It does sound like you have had a very exciting eventful week. I am very happy for you. It is always so wonderful when things God brings so many blessings at once. I do hope you are enjoying each of the blessings.

Happy Memorial Day Weekend Barbara, I am a Quilt Lover.. I only have one and a wish list of 5. I hope to go to Lancaster next year and see the Quilts there. I love Stories about them. I have read most of Jenifer Chiaverini series.Wish Elm Creek Manor was real.

Oh no, I can't post a note on June 3rd at 10- I am going to a retirement dinner for a close friend and doubt I will be home in time!!! I asked my husband if I typed the comment before I leave, could he please just click send at 10 and he looked at me in complete amazement!! Just buy the book when it comes out, is his answer. BUT I would love to review it on my blog and amazon. I am now on my 5th book review and was lucky enough to be sent one by Kathy Fuller, so your's would be a bonus. I will have to work on my dear husband a bit more to get him to "cooperate" by clicking that button.Can hardly wait to read your book/series, anyway!! What great excitement , you must feel.

I would love love to be one of the first to read your books. I have read both of the books you wrote with Beth and Kathleen. Enjoyed them all. I have never been much of a reader but when I was introduced to Amish Christian fiction I have never read so many books in a year in a half in all my life. I have gotten to the point I am reading faster than you all are writing I think that is so funny. Blessings from Maryland.
