Recipe Time!
Hi Everyone!
I hope you're having a nice weekend! Today my mom and I took the boys to the pool and then this afternoon my mom and I did some shopping while the boys stayed home with my hubby. Right now the boys are watching a movie. It's fun to relax for a while.
I thought this week I would share a couple of recipes that will be included in one of my future books. I hope you enjoy them!

Sift into mixing bowl:
1–1/4 cups of sugar
3/4 tsp baking powder
1 cup flour
3/4 tsp of salt
Break 1 egg into above mixture; mix until crumbly. Put over apples and bake at 350 degrees until crust is brown. Serve with whipped cream or ice cream.
1/2 cup white sugar
1 cup brown sugar
1/4 tsp baking soda
2 eggs
1/2 tsp vanilla
3 cups flour
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp nutmeg
1/4 tsp salt
3/4 cup ground blanched almonds
Cream shortening with white and brown sugar. Add eggs and work in sifted dry ingredients. Add chopped almonds. Shape dough into long rolls. Roll in wax paper and cover with cling wrap to keep in moisture. Chill in refrigerator for 12 hours. Slice thin. Bake at 375 degrees for 20 minutes or until lightly browned.

Apple Strudel
Line bottom of buttered baking dish with thick layer of apples and sprinkle with mixed cinnamon, sugar, and dots of butter.Sift into mixing bowl:

YUM, this recipe sounds really Delicious. I always look at recipes and wonder, Hmmm, would splenda work in these? My hubby is diabetic and my mind works in overtime sometimes.

I just really like to here you news letters. I am going to do the receipes that you shared. I made the apple cake years ago, do not know where it is, so thank-you for this. also I will be going to chapters to buy An Amish Gathering.Oh ! when is your cookbook coming? Carolyn
