Getting A New Amish Cookbook!
Happy Monday! First of all, congrats to Barbara on her recent awards! As she said, we write because we are driven to tell stories, but it's always nice to receive some recognition for the hard work. Doing the happy dance with you, Barbara, and I can't wait to see you in Indianapolis next month for the ACFW Conference! It will be our first time to meet in person.
If you're missing Amy and Kathy--no worries--they'll be back! Amy has been in Florida with her family at the RWA Conference, and Kathy (bless her heart!) has been moving!
As for me -- I posted last week that my beloved Lab--Chloe--ate my Amish cookbook! This family cookbook was a gift from an Amish friend, so I was super sad! I use recipes from this cookbook to go in the back of my books, and I always try them first. Thanking my Amish friend from afar because she offered to send me a new one! YAY!! But Chloe was sufficiently reprimanded by another member of our family.
"You're a very bad Lab! Mom said you ate her Amish cookbook!"
"I didn't eat all of it."
"I think you're still in pretty big trouble. Glad I'm not you."

That picture is precious! We have a miniature dachshund and she will destroy anything paper she can get a hold of if you leave her alone in a room.

I was surprised to learn you and Barbara had never met face to face. Glad you are getting a cook book replacement from your true blue Amish friend

And if he only realized that Mommie's cooking from the cookbook would be much tastier than eating the paper pages. So glad that your Amish friend will be replacing it for you! I always to go my Amish cookbooks first before trying anything else.

Thank you for the congratulations, Beth! And Jan-Lynn--no, Beth and I haven't met and I haven't met Kathy or Amy yet. We're hoping to do so soon. So far, Kathy and Amy aren't attending the same conference next month...hmm, wonder how we can convince them to go?
