Heading to Indianapolis for the ACFW Conference!
Well, I'm starting to pack and getting ready for the ACFW (American Christian Fiction Writers) Conference in Indianapolis. I'll be arriving this Thursday and leaving the following Monday. This is an opportunity to take writing-related classes, mingle with old friends, make new friends, hang out with my agent, and also spend time with my editor and publishing team at Thomas Nelson. I can't wait! I'm super excited to meet other authors that I've gotten to know online, but whom I've never met in person. Barbara Cameron is one of those folks! She's one of the 'Amish Hearts Girls' and we also worked together on An Amish Christmas and An Amish Gathering. I feel like I know Barbara so well, but yet we've never met in person. Cindy Woodsmall is another wonderful lady who I'm looking forward to meeting at the conference.
I'll be posting from the conference on my PERSONAL BLOG if you'd like to follow along and see pictures. Sunday night is the awards banquet when they will announce the winners of the Carol Awards (formerly Book of the Year) by category. I am SUPER honored to have finaled three times in two categories among some really fine authors. HERE is the list of finalists.
ACFW is hosting a LIVE BLOG where winners will be announced beginning at 7:30 p.m. EDT on Sunday, Sept. 19. Specially assigned bloggers in attendance will be posting winners live. So, if you would like to follow along, you can sign up now for a reminder about the event and also follow along at ACFW CONFERENCE LIVE BLOG. Good luck to all the finalists!
Hope everyone has a blessed week!

My favorite Christmas memory ...We also celebrated on Christmas eve ...All of our chores had to be done and then my sisters would bring me up stairs (to keep me busy) until Santa Claus came. My sisters would always have me watching for Santa and his reindeer ...some how I always missed them! I would look away and in that split second one of my sisters would say ...you just missed him! We then all ran down stairs and there would be our gifts! Our pets got gifts too and we have the dog wait until the very end. We left all of our wrapping paper on the floor and then tell him to find his gift under the tree. Paper would go flying everywhere when he went for his gift!

My favorite Christmas memory is of cowboy santa. I grew up in California and my grandparents lived up in the mountains. Every Christmas an older gentelman known as cowboy santa would load his truckand camper with presents and goodies and go to every house up the mountain and give gifts to the "canyon kids". It didn't matter if we lived there or not every child got a gift. Cowboy santa was the highlight of every Christmas.
