Any questions?

Happy Wednesday, y'all! God blessed us with a break in the heat this past week, and I'm very grateful. The days have been dry, breezy, and mild, with crisp, cloudless nights. For the past few nights my husband and I sat on our back patio to do a little stargazing. We saw the Harvest Moon, and from our little neck of the woods we can see Jupiter pretty clearly. Last night I found the Big Dipper for the first time without having to consult a chart. I'm a little bit of a constellation nerd, if you can't tell. But finding them on my own is always a challenge, so I was pretty excited by my little discovery. It was nice to enjoy the quiet, calm night after some pretty hectic days.

A big thank you to everyone who's ordered, purchased, and read A Hand to Hold, which released a couple weeks ago. For today's blog I thought I'd open up the floor to our readers. I often get email from readers asking a variety of questions, which range from when my next book comes out to tips for aspiring writers. Readers who joined in the chat a couple weeks ago asked some great questions, especially about the Amish. So this week I'm asking you to post any questions you have about my books, writing, and the Amish, and I'll answer them next Wednesday in my blog post. I look forward to hearing from you!

'Til next time,
Kathleen

Beth, just finished Plain Paradise, it was great. Have been reading amish novels for 3 years now. I really love all of them. They make you realize how important LESS is. Also, they make you want to be AMISH! I am a christian and love the LORD JESUS, with all my heart and all my being. He is all to me, without him, I can do nothing. Love your work, and hope to read more of your books. GOD BLESS YOU ALL AND MAY JESUS BLESS YOU AND YOUR LOVED ONES. A SISTER-IN-CHRIST,,,,,,,,,,CATHY

I am wondering why the clothes lines in some of the pictures are so high? Is it so they can get equipment in and out of the farm? Do they use some type of pulley to hang the clothes and then get them out of the way? Just curious and I have never seen this addressed in reading the Amish books, however I see it in pictures I view on the internet !!

Thanks for giving us the opportunity to ask questions on the Amish. I have one: What is the Pennsylvania Dutch names for the primary colors, ( Blue, green, red, black, brown, orange, white, purple, pink and yellow). I would like to know what they call them. Also do they have special name for Holodays like Christmas, Thanksgiving and Easter. I know they have Second Christmas Day.

    Again thank you..
