Exciting Review for Plain & Simple Christmas

Hi Everyone!

I hope you're having a good weekend!  This week I've been hard at work on my next book, which is another Kauffman Amish Bakery installment.

This week my new book, A Plain & Simple Christmas, received an exciting review in Library Journal.  I'm going to paste it below for you. I hope you enjoy your Sunday!

Sincerely,
Amy

Clipston, Amy. A Plain and Simple Christmas: A Novella. Zondervan. Sept. 2010. c.192p. ISBN 9780310327363. pap. $14.99. CF

Four years ago, Anna Mae McDonough married an “Englisher” and left Lancaster, PA, to live in Baltimore. Now eight months pregnant, she longs for the family that shunned her when she left. Hoping for a reconciliation, Anna writes to her sister-in-law asking her to arrange a visit. But her homecoming is not as welcoming as she had hoped, leaving Anna to question the choices she made.VERDICT Clipston is the author of the popular “Kauffman Amish Bakery” series (A Gift of Grace; A Promise of Hope), which also features the blending of two worlds. That series’ wide popularity is sure to attract readers to this novella, and they won’t be disappointed by the excellent writing and the story’s wholesome goodness.

Amy, I have a question for you. What decides if a book will be hardback or softback? Just curious. The "An Amish Christmas and A Amish Gathering" were both hardback and now your Christmas one is as well. But all others are softbacks. I'm just wondering what decisions go into deciding that! Thanks!

Thanks for the question, Cathy!  The publisher makes the decisions about which books will be hardcover and which will be softcover. That is decided when the contracts are executed before the books are even written.

    Congrats on the review!

And I'm assuming this is #4 in the Kauffman Amish Bakery series. Can't wait!

Thanks, Rachel!!  Actually Plain & SImple is sort of "outside" of the Kauffman series.  A Place of Peace is #3 (coming in Dec) and I'm currently writing #4 which is tentatively called A Life of Joy.

Just realised my post was rather vague - I meant that the book you're working on must be fourth in the series. I like "A Life of Joy", sounds lovely
