It's Fall! And Contest Winners Announced!

People are walking around in my part of Florida, happy not to be trapped inside by the heat. This week it's noticeably cooler. Pumpkins are appearing on the steps and grounds of churches for the fall festivals and my four year old grandson has already gotten his Halloween costume -- a race driver costume since he's obsessed with cars. It would be nice if we could have those beautiful colored leaves people get up north but we're so grateful for the cooler temps that we'll just make do, thanks.

I've been working hard to meet my deadline for the third Quilts of Lancaster County book and tying up all the loose ends of the characters. I love this series and have been so grateful for the wonderful reviews (Library Journal gave it a wonderful review as did RT Book Reviews...and readers have been writing me). I'll be sad to see the series end. But then I'll be starting a new series so it's all good. More about that later.

The television is on in the background while I write this. Paula Deen -- one of my favorites -- is making delicious recipes while my stomach growls for dinner. It reminds me that I need to announce a winner for last week's contest. I asked for suggestions for Amish recipes for the back of my current book. Since little Annie is always eating oatmeal in the story I thought a recipe for Amish baked oatmeal sent in by Sandra Kaczanowcke is ideal. And Cheesy Potato Bacon Soup suggested by Karla Hann sounds so good, too. since it's fall in the book ... so I decided we'd have two winners. The two of you should send your snail mail addresses to me at barcameron39@yahoo.com Oh, and if you want bookmarks you should write me there, too.

Back to my deadline. Hope you're enjoying the Fall weather wherever you are. Have a great weekend!

Barbara
