Grape Salad Recipe

This summer my friend Kim is staying with me and my family in Ohio. I'm so blessed to have her here. Not only is she a wonderful friend and a huge help to me, she's also a great cook. This week she prepared an awesome fruit salad. I need her tips on how to pick the best fresh fruit because it was delicious.

Here's another fruit salad recipe I'd like to try. Or see if she'd like to try. Here in Northeast Ohio we have a lot of vineyards, so grapes are plentiful. This is from one of my Amish cookbooks. It looked interesting. And easy.

Grape Salad

8 ounces sour cream

8 ounces cream cheese

8 ounces cool whip

1/2 cups powdered sugar

1 teaspoon lemon juice

3 pounds seedless grapes

Mix all together, grapes last.

Mrs. John E. Troyer

Enjoy!

'Till next time,

Kathleen

    Hi Kathleen,
My sister makes a recipe similiar to this, but she used (3) different kinds of grapes and it makes it look prettier and has a better taste....

I have a similar grape salad recipe, but mine is from Wisconsin... and I think it is a little less fattening. Omit the cool whip and change the powdered sugar to 1/4 cup regular sugar. Add 1 tsp vanilla, a little brown sugar and some walnuts. The other change is 4#'s of grapes... 2# green and 2# red. I can't ever get enough of it!!!!

I do something close to this, but I add pecan chunks to mine. It's very good. It's also good with strawberries or for the adventurous, pineapple!
