Fall and Love Bugs
I opened the back door a couple of days ago and a hint of fall air rushed inside. The Chihuahuas stood in the back yard sniffing the air the way they do when something's changing. They stayed out a little while longer. The hot weather has sent them inside sooner than they'd like all summer.
A day or so later, I opened the door and a few love bugs flew in. I don't know if anyone has them outside of the state of Florida. They're two black bugs -- a male and a female -- that don't really bother you because they...er...well, they fly united, totally focused on romance, and so they bump into everything. They're particularly bad as they fly in swarms near the Interstate. We locals trade advice on how to get them off our cars before they ruin the paint job.
I'be been reading comments on Facebook about how the weather is changing up north even more than here. People talk about being glad to wear jackets and warmer clothes and the talk of hot tea, hot chocolate, and other yummy warming goodies is making me long for colder weather.
I finished writing another book in the new series called Stitches in Time this week so I've taken a few days off to make plans for the release of A Time for Peace (Book 3 of the Quilts of Lancaster County series) which will be hitting the stores in the next week or two. Hope you've got your copy pre-ordered and enjoy the return to the story of Jenny and Matthew and their kinner. Jenny will stumble on a big secret that will rock her world.
If you want to see the cover of the first book of the Stitches in Time series it's up on www.ChristianBooks.com. Just type in Her Restless Heart by Barbara Cameron. And yes, it's available for pre-order. It's a very special story of three cousins who with their grandmother run a very special store called Stitches in Time.
The winner of the three book Quilts of Lancaster County series contest (an autographed copy of A Time to Love, A Time to Heal, and A Time for Peace) is Rosemary Foley. I'll be e-mailing you for your mailing address.
Have a great week!
Barbara

No, no love bugs up here. Thank goodness, the stinkbugs are a nuisance enough.
And you are right I am very excited for the cooler weather. I love fall! It's a great time to visit here in PA.

I love authors who write their books involving the Amish lifestyle. I have always been fascinated by it and as I read the books, I put myself into the story and try to experience what they are experiencing...it's very cool.
