Which Way to Go?

Important and basic decisions are a part of daily life, Amish or Englisch, but sometimes, there's that one really tough decision where you wish God would just speak out loud and tell you what to do. Fortunately, when you are walking with Him, which means keeping apace with Him, this is exactly what He does. In Isaiah 30:21, God's Word says:
"And your ears will hear a word behind you, 'This is the way, walk in it;'whenever you turn to the right or to the left."
And before you freak, thinking that you're going to start hearing voices, remember that God speaks uniquely to each one of us. His Voice might come through His Word, through the prayer of a fellow Christian, or through what I call 'a heart echo'--this sound of a voice which is distinctly not mine, coming from deep inside. Often, you can tell it's God speaking when you find yourself choosing the direction that YOU would least likely want to choose. And, incidentally, the word "ears" here, in the Hebrew, mean yes, literal ears, but also mean 'broadness.' Broadness is an all encompassing word, as if what you hear takes in to consideration all the broad factors and implications that you think are holding you up in your decision. God says He's got all of those other things that seem to be affecting your choice under control. This doesn't mean that you always will be able to make a hasty decision; you may have to wait to hear His voice. And don't be tempted by the ones who love you to take their advice as the Lord's---Remember, "sometimes the greatest temptations to choose in our lives come from those who love us the most." SO, are you going through a tough decision? God promises His Voice to tell you which direction, which path to take...now just stop and listen.
