Amish Farmers in the 1900's didn't necessarily live with longevity, but they did LIVE...meaning they were connected with the ways and means of existing, to the point of self-sacrifice, denial, and loss. Thinking I'm longing for the simple farm life (I know about Farmville)...no, just longing for the simplicity of knowing what to do, when to do it, and how to do it, pretty much all of the time. The oldest profession is that of gardener...before the curse, Adam tended the garden of Eden..he was a farmer. I long for the knowing that comes with growing...and I need to find that, even in the midst of the city, traffic, strangers, and hurry. God still needs farmers...
